For all of my stressing and worrying, ArtWeek has been going amazingly! All of our events have been successful, the gallery is up (though we realized that the gallery space may need some re-working in order to accomodate large collections in the future), events have been well-attended, music and performing art showcases were just fantastic [...]
superbowl funday
seb did a ton of stuff this weekend — big crazy fun night for winter welcome week, a superbowl party with tons of free wings, movie nights (every weekend!) and more.
meanwhile i was at my parents’ all weekend and missed everything.
now it’s monday and i’m in class. O-K!
CATCH UP + SLOW DOWN
The last week has been jam packed. Finishing up design for a bunch of campus events (via SEB and commonvision), trying to get coursework done, going to NYC over the weekend on the SEB trip, and now it’s Thanksgiving break! I am so grateful for the time to calm down and do serious amounts of [...]
This week
Lots going on this week, but then, there always is. SEB brainstorming meeting to come up with events for next semester… some awesome stuff is happening! Plus we’re putting together this big Harry Potter Yule Ball for December 6th. It’s gonna be great!
commonvision work is getting done bit by bit. Event promo stuff for the [...]
HOMECOMING
I am not going to lie, I am biased on this one. As a member of the Student Events Board, I had a lot to do with Homecoming this year. I designed all the posters, flyers, and marketing stuff on our end (though the “celebration” mailers and materials came from another office), and worked hard [...]
Monday, Monday, Monday
Yesterday was pretty intense. I spent a lot of the weekend finishing up a serious paper for my Graphic Design class (though I took a break for SEB’s “I Love the 90s” Dance Party, which was SO AWESOME, and my friend JT’s Housewarming at her new apartment in Baltimore - She used to be a [...]
OH HEY
I’m sitting in a history class right now… I’m not going to lie, History and I are TROUBLE. All students have a set of core requirements, and this is my last necessary course — A “Social Sciences” class. I have to stick it out, but I just simply am no good when it comes to [...]
WEEKEND
I am so tired. It’s nearly 5pm, I’ve been here at work since 9. commonvision is awesome, but that doesn’t make me any less tired!
A lot of the OSL Marketing Interns were in to work today. Basically, they work for the Office of Student Life and do marketing stuff, and these big weekly event posters [...]
Oh my god!
Weenies and Waterpark was AMAZING!
I live really close to the SEB Staff advisor, Jen Dress, so she picked me up in the morning for the event. First stop was Giant, the grocery store a block from my house and down the street from UMBC. We bought THREE SHOPPING CARTS worth of hot dogs, buns, chips, [...]
What’s up?
Hey everyone! My name is Adam, and I’m a new UMBC blogger, though certainly not a new blogger in the general sense.
I’m pretty involved on campus, planning events with SEB, working at commonvision, and more, and I can almost always be found in The Commons building when I’m not in class… definitely gives me an [...]
